According to the streaming service, the Duchess of Sussex’s anticipated Netflix show will now be released in March rather than its original date, citing the recent Los Angeles wildfires as the reason for the delay.
The lifestyle series, set in southern California, was scheduled to debut on Wednesday.
Netflix stated that it provided its complete backing to Meghan’s desire to postpone the release.
Since Tuesday, wildfires have devastated a California city, claiming the lives of at least 24 individuals and displacing hundreds of thousands from their residences.
In an official announcement, Netflix expressed that their upcoming show would be a sincere homage to the splendor of southern California. They also shared that they were rescheduling the release of With Love, Meghan due to the ongoing destruction caused by the fires.
The Duchess expressed her gratitude to Netflix for their support in postponing the launch, as they prioritize the needs of those affected by the recent wildfires in her home state of California.
According to Netflix, the program featuring Meghan and Prince Harry, who resides in Montecito, a town in southern California, will be broadcast on 4 March.
As of now, the fires have not reached the coastal enclave, which lies approximately 160km (99 miles) northwest of Los Angeles.
The Montecito Fire Department deems its fire risk rating to be high.
Featuring celebrity guests like Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer, With Love, Meghan consists of eight 30-minute episodes.
Earlier this month, a trailer was released featuring Meghan in California, where she resides with her husband Prince Harry and their two children. In the video, she decorates a cake with raspberries and gathers honey.
On Friday, Prince Harry and Meghan showed their compassion by warmly embracing residents in the devastated area of Pasadena following the worst wildfires in LA’s history.
